My daughter was brought into the ER via ambulance at about 7:30 pm after being involved in a ski accident at Shawnee Mtn. A broke 6 ribs and was having trouble breathing due to her left lung being affected. I was about 90 minutes away in NJ where we live when I received the call about the accident. A call no parent wants. Everyone in the ER/trauma unit was absolutely wonderful! It took a few hours for things to get settled and A was admitted to a room on the pediatric floor at about 12:30 am at which time we met Laura. As you can imagine, it had been a long day/night, A was in pain and I was quite shaken up. Laura was unbelievably compassionate, caring, sweet, and helpful in every aspect of this experience. She made this experience as pleasant as it could be under the circumstances and was great with A. She also made sure I was taken care of and able to rest. Again, being from out of the area, this was an excellent experience and I am bringing A back to the trauma doctor for a follow-up because I was so happy with the treatment she received at LVH-Pocono.
