It is no secret that the past year has been unprecedented and challenging for all nursing leaders across the system. The Emergency Department has been hit exceptionally hard over the last year with high volumes, staffing vacancies/turnover, and overall departmental changes. Despite the many challenges and emotional toll this year has taken on her team, this nurse leader remains a role model leader who consistently inspires others. In difficult times she exudes positivity and goes above and beyond to advocate for the three Emergency Departments. No matter what is thrown her way, she is always courageous, strategic, and innovative in finding resolutions. She is dedicated to all better and ensures standards of quality patient care are always maintained in the EDs. She has created additional patient care spaces, provided oversight for surge tents and testing sites, and is constantly advocating for additional resources. It is evident this nurse leader deeply cares about people. She is a compassionate leader who is always accessible, available, and responsive to the needs of her team. She demonstrates tireless devotion to ensuring the Emergency Departments have the resources needed to care for both their patients and themselves. She is constantly rounding, attending huddle, and checking in with her teams. She is truly selfless and such an inspirational leader. I don't know what the Emergency Departments would do without her fearlessly leading us forward.
