Dr. Manns-James is an experienced faculty member who is always willing to help others, and therefore many colleagues consider her a mentor and approach her with course-related or student-related issues. Dr. Manns-James can be counted on to provide thoughtful guidance, and she is a person that I go to for advice in difficult situations. Dr. Manns-James has played a very important role in the University’s Research Committee. She co-chaired the committee for two years and then chaired the committee for an additional year. In this role, she has mentored and otherwise supported faculty in their quest to develop their scholarship abilities. She was deeply involved in the planning and implementation of the University’s scholarship symposium in 2018 and 2019 as well. Overall Dr. Manns-James, as a person, uses compassion to guide her voice and actions both inside the University, with patients, and in her community.
