A patient's wife wrote the following to Laura:
"Laura, I would like to thank you for the loving, caring, warm and compassionate care you showed and gave to my precious husband in the eleven days he was in your care. You treated him with the utmost honor, kindness and respect. You helped me in every way to keep his modesty and dignity and for that I will forever be grateful. You were with us that Sunday - a big hug to you. You were so helpful and discrete in removing his IV and placing him so we could all kiss and hug goodbye. Thank you sweet girl for letting me stay with him as long as possible."
She also thanked the group for getting them an anniversary cake, saying "such a sweet thing to do".
Laura shows this kind of compassion while delivering excellent clinical care every day.
