Laura is an all-around exceptional nurse and an integral part of 7SA. She is an incredible resourcetoboth new and experienced nurses. She never hesitates to help, offer advice, or go above and beyond when solving problems. Laura is the calm in a storm and stays collected during stressful, unexpected times on the floor. Knowing she is on the floor gives me a sense of peace when I'm at work.
She has great relationships not only with her fellow RNs, but with many physicians and teams, including those we work closest with such as Transplant and Nephrology. Her communication with these teams is vital. Her organization and ability to anticipate the flow of the floor keeps things running smoothly, which is no small feat.
As a floor RN, she embodies the role of patient advocate when making decisions while speaking to physicians, and sets a good example for other RNs to do the same.
Laura is the hub of all things social; from celebrations of baby showers to happy hour meet ups, these events include staff from PSS's, PCTs, HD techs, and more. These events keep our unit knit closely together in a special way and a lot of credit for this goes to Laura. Laura is much deserving of the DAISY Award.
