Laura Molina, a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit nurse, went above and beyond to help a patient fulfill his last wish. Her patient asked his caregivers to withdraw life support. However, there was one very important thing he needed to do first - marry his fiance. His family successfully appealed to a judge to waive the three day waiting period for a marriage license. Laura coordinated the wedding by getting the couple a cake from Shands' Food Services department and flowers and rings from the gift shop. The couple had their wedding and Mr. C passed away that night. Thanks to Laura and the staff of CICU, this couple was able to make some happy memories in their last hours together.
