I was going through a really rough time after finding out at 14 weeks that my pregnancy wasn’t viable. I came into the clinic to have a D&C procedure, and Laura and her team were incredibly attentive, kind, and supportive. She kept things light, checked in on me often, and reassured me, and in the midst of all the heaviness, she somehow managed to make me laugh.

Before the procedure, I asked a question that was very important to me. I wanted to make sure I could retrieve my blood. I wanted to return the blood to the earth by planting a juniper tree and a rose bush in memory of our baby.

Laura made sure she personally passed this request along, with great care and respect, to the blood lab, the pathology department, and another staff member who followed up with me to explain the process to make this possible. I truly felt her urgency and dedication to honoring my request.

Because of her attention to detail and how on top of everything she was, I was able to find a mortuary the very same day that treated us with incredible care and tenderness during this difficult time. I will be receiving my sacred blood back so I can turn this experience into something meaningful, something we will remember and begin anew.

I went in expecting a horrific experience. I imagined a loud vacuum, pain, and trauma. Instead, I was met with gentle, tender, loving angels who cared for me as if I were their own family.
