We had a patient who was very ill and nearing death. The daughter of the patient wanted to have her father present at her wedding and members of this family expressed interest in having a ceremony at the bedside. Laura volunteered to coordinate the effort. She went on her own time to purchase decorations and came in on her off day to decorate the room to make the experience memorable to both the patient and his family. The patient expressed he was at peace and ready to transition to comfort measures after the event.
