July 2019 Honoree
laura thatcher, RN, BSN, CCRN
Laura works in the ICU on weekends. She consistently showed compassion and close attention to my wife R as she cared for her over the weekend. Laura always bent forward to look R in the eyes whenever she talked with her and R's head was bent forward due to her weak condition. I noticed that Laura always took the time to carefully place spoonful's of food in R's mouth when she fed her.
Laura always explained what medicines she was administering to R. Family members also benefited from Laura's attentiveness. She would regularly ask whether we needed anything as she left the room after caring for R. Laura would give an estimate of when she would be back to R's room and she consistently kept to her estimate, even though she must have been very busy with all of her patients. Laura is one of the best nurses I've come across.

Thank you, Laura, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
