I had originally gone to the urgent care/ER because I was having stomach pain/nausea/vomiting. I thought I just had food poisoning or the stomach flu. Laura Wells was amazing from the start. She listened carefully while I told her my symptoms. She asked me questions in a respectful, professional way. When my bloodwork came back with an elevated white cell count, she had a CT scan done to figure out what was going on.
They found out that my appendix was almost twice the size it should be and infected. I would have never thought I was that sick! I had never had surgery before, and I was terrified! I started to cry, and Laura reassured me everything was going to be okay. She explained the procedure thoroughly and let me know what to expect. She made me feel so at ease and truly made me feel that I was in good hands. She even made me laugh while I was freaking out. She truly is an amazing NP and person. She really cares about people. She also came to see me after surgery and brought me flowers. This positive experience has taught me to not dislike hospitals so much- one good experience changed that.
