Laura treats every patient with compassion and genuine concern. Every patient knows they are important and cared for by Laura, they continually comment on her love for them. She takes the time to get to know every patient and has their individual nuances memorized as she responds to their needs even before they raise concerns. She follows through for all patients in any arena needed. The patients know they can count on her, as does the team. During the height of COVID, one of our nurses became infected. This nurse was so sick she missed the entire month of April. Laura worked every day that entire month. She worked all of her shifts and all of her ill TM's shifts. She never complained and never mentioned her hardship of having to work more than 12 hours days/six days a week for an entire month! I am amazed at Laura's never ending due diligence for her patients, the teammates and this clinic. Her leadership on and off the floor has taken this team from a 2 star clinic to a 4 star clinic and has led to internal quality ratings above or near the top 20% of DaVita clinics in overall clinical outcomes. In addition to providing excellent clinical care, the clinic has also shown explosive growth in ICHD to PD patient conversions (up 700% in 2020 with a total of 8 conversions on a census of 70). These strong outcomes are a testament to the consistent interdisciplinary team meetings Laura helps lead every week, and to her focus on patient education and empowerment to drive a truly patient-centered care approach at Clinton Township. We are all so fortunate to have her at this clinic. She leads by example and the team has followed.
