Laurel was recognized for responding to a patient who was upset to be getting a blood draw. After talking with the patient, Laurel learned that she was scared and in pain. Laurel took the time to sit with the patient, offering her a hand to hold and someone to talk with while the technician drew her blood. Although, this wasn't Laurel's patient, she made it a priority to provide support and made sure the patient felt comfortable.
