On my first home health visit with Laurel Jones, she immediately stood out from other nurses. She looked at me and said, "I am not here to just change your bandages; I am here to cure that wound." That is exactly what she did, she spent nearly an hour with me working on my foot and teaching me how to care for it. I was used to a fairly quick dressing change and gone in 20 minutes, but not with Laurel. She was passionate that I improve.

I feel she is an excellent example of patient empathy as she understood me and my needs. As my nurse, she responded to me and my needs in a positive, pleasant, and respectful manner. She made sure to provide the tools and time needed for my wound to heal. Laurel seems to love her work and her patients. What is humorous to me is that she talks to herself while she is working. I thoroughly respect her, feel comfortable in her care, and have seen huge improvements in my health since she started with me. I don't think this nurse has gotten a lot of recognition for the admirable way she provides care to her patients. I feel that if anybody deserves recognition as a trusted, selfless professional Laurel does!! Thank you Laurel for being my nurse and for helping me get on the road to recovery. I will not forget what you have done for me personally and professionally by coming into my home and helping me in my time of need. I can tell you love your job and I love having you as my nurse. You are the best and I am so grateful for the work you do!
