A patient known by many staff members over the years had passed away at the hospital. She wasn't Lauren's patient during her final admission, yet she felt a connection with her and went with another colleague to administer post-mortem care.
When I went into the room, I was so touched by what I saw. They were giving the patient a full bed bath, covering her wounds, and Lauren was rubbing her legs. It brought tears to my eyes. They were so sweet and gentle. It was like they were taking care of an old friend.
