I would like to recognize a truly exceptional nurse who cared for my mother during one of the most difficult times of our lives. My mother, a 60-year-old woman, was admitted with stroke symptoms and was later found to have significant brain swelling, sepsis, and kidney failure. This was in addition to a recent diagnosis of cervical cancer, for which we were in the process of arranging oncology care.

As you can imagine, this was an incredibly overwhelming and stressful time for our family. From the moment this nurse entered our lives, Lauren provided not only outstanding medical care for my mother but also emotional support and compassionate presence for our entire family. She was attentive and thorough, always ensuring that my mother was comfortable, closely monitored, and receiving the care she needed. She went above and beyond to keep us informed, answering all our questions with patience and clarity, and offering thoughtful education that helped us better understand what was happening.

What stood out most was the way she connected with us. She didn’t just see us as a chart or a diagnosis; she saw us as people who were scared, grieving, and in need of reassurance. She took the time to check in on each of us, making sure we had what we needed and simply being present when we needed a calm, kind face. Her warmth and dedication radiated in everything she did. It was as though she extended the healing touch of Jesus through her hands and heart.

Lauren is the embodiment of compassion and excellence in nursing. Her love for what she does is undeniable, and her ability to comfort and care for others with such grace and strength has made a profound impact on our family. We are forever grateful for her care.
