Lauren Diebel, BSN
Lauren has consistently gone far above and beyond to make a particular patient’s long-term stay more bearable. She has taken care of this patient nearly every shift that she works, and I have watched as she cares for him as her own. She takes time to soothe him, hold him, and play with him and has been a tireless advocate for his needs during his complicated course.
On one occasion she coordinated money raised from a few coworkers to purchase this patient and his family a video baby monitor (after every other avenue had been exhausted over the course of weeks) so that the family could feel comfortable leaving the bedside to rest. On another occasion, she surprised the family with framed photographs of when the entire family gathered outside in the Healing Garden. She even brought 2 photos, one for the patient's bedside and one for the family to have at home. She is an exceptional nurse in every way, with every patient. She is technically skilled, interpersonally warm, and a level-headed island in a storm. I want her to know that she is seen and valued by coworkers and families alike!
