This quote sums up how we feel about the care we received from Lauren. It goes without saying that we received the highest standard of medical care, but then we received so much more than that. My son came into this admission very depressed and tired of being in the hospital after his mitral valve repair and subsequent admissions. Lauren was able to constantly cheer him up. Perhaps the biggest example was finding an xbox for him to play with. She helped him name the IV pole and feeding pump so that he didn't mind dragging it around all the time. She gained his trust. My son looked forward to seeing her and her SMILES everyday! How do you put these things into words? You can't really- especially when you truly mean them. So, I'll say that I truly wish that every child was blessed enough to have this amazing nurse as their caregiver, friend, advocate and SO much more! When I was having trouble communicating with the physicians, Lauren helped become my voice. She helped me get my message and thoughts to the physicians.
