"While in the hospital visiting with my Papa when he was ill, I promised him that I would find work in the medical field - I kept that promise," said Lauren. "I chose nursing because it gives me the opportunity to work closely with the patient each and every day on a deep, personal level."
Lauren was nominated by a patient, who said "…Lauren came into my hospital room and sat down to hear more about what had happened [with my children earlier] and what she could do to lessen both my emotional and physical pain. I was able to sit down and comfortably tell her what happened. We not only talked about that day but also about the other days [in our lives] where each of us had experienced both pain and happiness… Talking with Lauren is like talking to someone that I've known my entire life. She is an absolute asset to this institution."
"Lauren is a consummate professional and a definite asset to this hospital," said CTCA Chicago vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer. "She is a wonderful and caring human being who is loved and admired by her patients and fellow nurses. She fits perfectly with the nurturing culture we've constructed here at CTCA Chicago."
