Lauren Evans 2022, RN, BSN

Lauren had a patient who was admitted to the hospital unexpectedly. During Lauren’s shift the patient told her that his dog had been at home alone in a crate since his admission. Lauren went to the patient’s house and with the assistance of other employees, had the neighbor open the door of the house and rescued the dog who had been there for days with no electricity, food, or water. Lauren helped find the dog a foster home, got him cleaned up, and fed while the patient remained in the hospital. Lauren also got permission to have the dog brought to the hospital to visit the patient during his admission. The dog and patient lit up when they saw each other!
