Lauren Fearing, RN

Lauren was my mom's night nurse. Night shift is often an unrecognized value asset to patient care. I generally have difficulty staying with family without feeling a sense of needing to help with care. I acknowledge I am "fussy". I have been a nurse since 1986. Lauren was amazing. She was so kind and extremely patient with my mom. She never once approached or touched Mom without explaining thoroughly and asking permission. Often, staff are so busy and thinking of the next task that we just forge ahead. Lauren was so patient and always treated my mom as though she was her top priority. She anticipated her needs before Mom could even ask. Such a small detail, but I told the staff that my mom only enjoys ice-cold water. Lauren was the only staff during our stay who ensured she had it. It did not go unnoticed that one simple request was honored night after night. She put my mom at ease! "ALWAYS" made it a priority to be sure she was comfortable. My mom was given a terminal diagnosis that week. She asked only that she be kept comfortable. Lauren made it seem that it was her mission to honor mom's request. Thank you, Lauren!
