Lauren had a patient that was young man who was deaf, mute, MR and had behavioral issues. The young man kept calling and hollering out just to have some company. Lauren decided to place the patient at the nurse's station that morning. She found him crayons and a coloring book to help occupy his time. Whatever time she had she sat with him and played games with him. They laughed and engaged in activities all day long at the nurse's station until he was discharged that evening. The compassion that Lauren demonstrated in meeting the needs of this patient was truly inspiring to all of us.
