Lauren was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark time. Even though her mask, we could see her constant, comforting smile of reassurance.
I am the grandson of the late S.Y., who was a patient in the care of Redlands Community Hospital Hospice Services until his passing. I am writing on behalf of my family to express our deepest gratitude for the grace, professionalism, and expertise displayed by your staff in managing his comfort. Lauren was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark time. Even though her mask, we could see her constant, comforting smile of reassurance. Once my grandfather was no longer able to swallow, she showed me how to prepare and dose his medications. She was so gentle and tender with him, and I know that he was comforted by her touch. She also had the thankless task of preparing us to recognize the stages of my grandfather’s decline, which she handled with grace and understanding. The way she explained things, those terrible milestones did not seem so bad. The entire Team was a model of excellence in such a difficult field. I was born in your hospital 28 years ago and my family has been in your care many times since, but the most recent experience truly underscores how fortunate we are to have RCH as a resource in our community.
