Thanks to Dr. Kendall and other brave frontliners, approximately 1,000 vaccines are being administered on a daily basis.
Lauren Kendall, Ph.D. has continuously volunteered her time and efforts toward aiding the FSU community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. While arduously assisting Florida State University’s Health & Wellness Center in establishing the University’s Drive-Through Testing Center in summer 2020, she also spearheaded COVID-19 relief efforts to support local health care partners (Archbold Memorial Hospital, Capital Regional Medical Center, and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare). Collectively, Dr. Kendall donated on behalf of the College of Nursing, over 2,000 PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) items such as gloves (~1,400), shoe covers (~250), safety goggles, and isolation gowns (~700 gowns). Dr. Kendall also led COVID-19 relief efforts to support Archbold Memorial Hospital and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare by leading nursing students in sewing and donating over 100 face masks, as well as helping screen individuals going to the Health Department. Dr. Kendall has also coordinated volunteer opportunities for nursing students with Second Harvest of the Big Bend, as well as Second Harvest of Tampa Bay and Second Harvest of Central Florida. In her pursuit to help the community and mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Dr. Kendall has been administering record-breaking COVID-19 vaccines to the public at the FSU Tucker Center’s COVID-19 vaccine drive-through, alongside Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Thanks to Dr. Kendall and other brave frontliners, approximately 1,000 vaccines are being administered on a daily basis.
