January 2024 Honoree
Lauren Klug, RN
Ms. Lauren Klug was very attentive to me while I was in so much pain from my illness. The first time I saw her was when I was brought to the floor. As usual, I was very cold already and my teeth were chattering, being an elderly man of 83 years old, I was hoping for someone to help me. Luckily for me, Lauren came to my aid and covered me up with a very warm blanket that was folded double. I couldn’t believe how wonderful and warm that blanket felt on my cold body but that wasn’t all. The next morning when Lauren came in, I still was not very comfortable and I had no wash clothes or towels or toothbrush, etc. Lauren asked me if I needed any help, and I told her I didn’t have anything to clean up with. She immediately went and gathered everything I needed, plus a really good set of pajamas for me. She was great at taking care of me and my every need and was always courteous and helpful. I hadn’t eaten in a day and a half, and she came to my aid with some warm chicken noodle soup. Being an old person hurting, I was tickled to death to have someone care for me as Lauren did. She was always checking in on me, being sick, and as down as I was, it brightened up my time in the hospital to have a nice caring nurse like this there to cheer up my days. In my heart, she has already won my gratitude and appreciation for being who she already is.
Thank you, Lauren, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
