Lauren has left her mark of compassion on the lives of many children as their nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) and has left a mark of compassion on their families. She has gone above required job duties and sought out Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification to care for children who have experienced trauma and sexual assault. Because of this work, Lauren has had the honor of being invited to the crime lab at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as a special guest of the Stephanie Blank Child Advocacy Center. She has achieved her certification concurrently while pursuing her MSN as a pediatric nurse practitioner at VUSN. She is eager to serve as a resource to her peers at VUSN assisting them in greater understanding of content and volunteering for additional skills practice. Lauren serves as a mentor for new nurses in the PICU at CHOA. Furthermore, she has assisted in designing yearly competencies for her unit. Lauren has chosen the path of a trailblazer to impact the lives of children, her peers, and the profession of nursing. Her enthusiasm for her patients and love of learning will surely continue to fuel her bright future in nursing.
