Lauren Leeson, RN

My daughter came in by ambulance after falling at cheerleading practice. She was scared and worried about what was wrong with her since she was in a C collar and could not feel her left leg. Lauren was one of the first nurses in the trauma room with her. She was calm and kept my daughter calm even while her clothes were being cut off of her. She was being poked for lab work, and providers were trying to examine her.

Lauren took the time to talk to her and get to know her as a person, including discussing eyelash care! Lauren's shift was ending, and she made a point to come in and say goodbye to my daughter. The next morning, we were still in the ED, and Lauren was back on! My daughter’s face lit up when she saw her, and her demeanor changed completely as she became relaxed again, even if we still were not sure what was going on. Eventually, we were transferred to a room, but Lauren was with us the whole time until she was transferred. She still continued to make sure my daughter was relaxed and that I was okay as a mom! My daughter still talks about Lauren and how much she helped her, so Thank You, Lauren, for being an amazing, compassionate nurse to my daughter.
