Lauren also shows the composure, great attitude, and professionalism of a veteran employee when having to deal with her as a charge nurse.
I entered the emergency department at Lewes and noticed a patient out in the hallway next to the nurses' station. Sitting next to her was a phone with some gentle music playing and Lauren charting on her list of patients. After some basic investigation I figured out that she had the patient out there as the patient was obviously suffering from some form of dementia. Having the music on and someone to talkto  to keep the patient from being terrified and screaming. After even further investigation I found that this is an older nursing tactic.

This tells me two things: Lauren picked this up from someone with veteran status and had the foresight to keep it in her "bag of tricks" and that despite the proverbial beat-down that the staff has been taking in general (much like every other hospital right now) she exhibited the kind of over and above care that would be much more commonplace in much less volatile time. It speaks volumes, not just about her abilities as a nurse, but about her character. This doesn't go without saying that Lauren also shows the composure, great attitude, and professionalism of a veteran employee when having to deal with her as a charge nurse. I have had to witness this many time now both in a field paramedic and paramedic supervisory role.
