April 2025 Honoree
Lauren M. Price, RN
My father-in-law was admitted to your acute care for a long list of health complications in his final days. He is a Catholic and did express to me his desire to see a priest. I had contacted my local parish, but he was not able to come until Thursday. Lauren met him and learned he was Catholic. She went above and beyond her duty to call Francis of Assisi and was told the same. She then called Basilica of Saint Andrew in Roanoke and arranged for Father William to come see him. He came on Wednesday and gave the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Although he was not able to speak much, he uttered, "I don't want to go to purgatory," and the priest put him at ease. My family cannot thank Lauren enough for her help, and she is a blessing for your hospital staff.
Thank you, Lauren M., for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
