Lauren honors the human spirit of not just her patients, but their family members as well. She provides extraordinary compassionate care by constantly advocating for her patients.
Lauren is an Extraordinary Nurse. Lauren provides a remarkable patient experience to her patients because once you are her patient one time, she will always consider you, her patient. She continues to visit her patients on the floor and follow up on their needs even days after they’ve had her. Patients' families have commented on how much they appreciated her checking on their loved ones. Some patients have remembered her, and vice versa, years later when they are back on our unit. Lauren will always ensure when she visits her patients that they have everything they need and are happy.
We had a physically impaired patient on the unit and the wife did not feel comfortable leaving him alone. She shared with me how happy she was that Lauren stopped by to check on him. This gave her great comfort and the wife was able to go home and shower. Lauren honors the human spirit of not just her patients, but their family members as well. She provides extraordinary compassionate care by constantly advocating for her patients. Lauren will take initiative to escalate an issue and continue to do so till she is satisfied that her patients' best interests were met. She will utilize all resources available till she gets what she needs for her patients. Lauren does this with energy and determination because she truly knows she makes a difference in her patients’ lives.
Lauren role models clinical excellence and teamwork by being the silent hero. Lauren will never make a show of helping someone. She does it with a calm dignity. Recently, a fellow nurse felt overwhelmed by getting another admission. Lauren simply stated that she would take the admission. She didn’t ask for the other nurse to switch or help her out, she simply added that patient to her assignment. We are grateful to Lauren and all the love, effort, and compassion she puts into her patients’ care.
