Lauren entered our lives, and she alleviated our pain and fear and accompanied us daily on this journey-one that we were totally unprepared for until she arrived. Obviously, Lauren is a skilled professional and hospice nurse, but she is so much more. Her kind heart, patient listening, and good humor are what B and I cherished. Everything I told her about B, she remembered and incorporated into her conversation with B. He lit up when she walked into the room. I never told him what time she would be visiting because he would wait for her all day. Lauren never rushed out, even on Christmas and New Year's Eve.
I hoped never to need hospice care in our lives but that was not to be our story. Valley Hospice and specifically the team we were assigned helped us in a way that this letter cannot fully articulate. I, my sons, and their families will be forever grateful for the love, support, and skill that we experienced from these amazing people.
