I am honored to nominate Lauren Munoz, one of our exceptional new graduate nurses, for the DAISY Award. Recently, Lauren demonstrated an extraordinary level of compassion and dedication when caring for a patient at the end of life who had no family or visitors present. Despite having a full patient assignment, Lauren took it upon herself to ensure that this patient was not left alone during their final moments. Lauren’s ability to balance the needs of all her patients while still finding time to sit with this individual and offer them comfort speaks volumes about her character and commitment to nursing. She provided not only outstanding clinical care but also genuine, heartfelt human connection during a time when it was most needed. Her selflessness, empathy, and professionalism never wavered, and she managed to ensure that none of her other patients went without the care they deserved. Lauren truly exemplifies the spirit of nursing and goes above and beyond every day to make a difference in the lives of her patients. She is an inspiration to her colleagues and a blessing to the patients she serves.
