Lauren Pope, RN

There are several nurses I could nominate for this extraordinary award; however, one stood out to me because not only did she possess exceptional knowledge and great skill, but she also exhibited immense compassion while doing so —a rare find indeed to have both. 

No nurse while I was here had more skill or was more adept at organizing and managing my care. For example, she would find out when my procedures were scheduled and if I thought I was to have something done, she would contact my doctor to make sure the orders were put in, even if it was my diet order.

Lauren also impressed me a great deal with her knowledge of procedures whenever I had a question about something. It was quite a comfort knowing Lauren could tell me what to expect. 

Perhaps the most important reason I am nominating Lauren for this award is that she talked me through a frightful situation. I have to have a Foley catheter, and I was very scared as I had a bad experience in the past! She gently performed the procedure while consoling me. It was done before I knew it. I have been thankful for all of her help.
