Lauren Smith MO, RN

I have observed Lauren regularly providing exceptional care a few days ago, I went to the room of a patient that was DNR-comfort care. I was preparing to go into the room when I heard someone singing. I looked in the room and saw Lauren singing to this dying patient as she performed her duties. No family was present. Lauren was done with the patient. There was nothing requiring her to provide the kind act of blessing the patient with her song. This is the type of extra care that gives comfort to those we serve. I believe even in their final days and hours patients are aware of our presence in the room. Lauren song could have provided great peace and comfort to the patient in her final days.
