It is the small, simple things that stand out. Lauren Steffen was transporting my dad from ICU to hospice. My dad’s nerves were getting the best of him, and he was shaking very badly. She took her time to comfort him. While walking, we went through the breezeway in front of building 1. My dad had asked if we could stop for a minute so he could just enjoy the sun. It was during the heatwave, so it was extremely hot, and I’m sure she had other things to do. But she made him feel like he was the most important priority. She pushed him out to the little courtyard, and he got to enjoy the sun on his face, which helped calm his nerves and stopped his shaking. It was the last time he got to enjoy the warmth of the sun. Again, we just wanted to share our huge gratitude to you all.

Lauren has provided extraordinary care to me while on the hospital unit. She is professional, attentive, and goes above and beyond. She was “sneaky” to make me feel comfortable when I did not even know it. She is a great listener and has a bubbly personality, which made my stay simply wonderful.
