Lauren was present in the OR when we received some very bad news; stage 4 rectal cancer. She jumped into action supporting us. Not only did she spend time educating and supporting us, she also gave us a private waiting room, and got the chaplain and a social worker to support us. We had three subsequent surgeries. On each visit, she was positive and supportive, and continued to provide us with education. She, along with so many of the nurses at MCR, turned a horrific situation into a supported and tolerable experience. We are forever grateful for her quick thinking and action, genuine support and concern, as well as supportive education.
