Lauren was my delivery nurse when I gave birth to my daughter. She was an incredible source of comfort and expertise throughout the whole process. I went in to have a procedure to try and flip our baby girl because she was breech. Lauren's kindness and calming support helped tremendously and the doctor was successful at flipping the baby!

We were in a celebratory and excited mood and started the induction. Everything was going smoothly until the baby's heartbeat dropped suddenly. Lauren checked me and felt the umbilical cord was prolapsed. This is a very scary and dangerous situation for the baby. Lauren miraculously was able to save our daughter from losing oxygen by inserting her hand and forearm inside me to push back the cord and remove the danger to the baby. Her quick thinking and action saved my baby's life.

I was also able to avoid a c-section as the baby's heart stabilized and we proceeded with a vaginal delivery. I learned afterward that a prolapsed umbilical cord is extremely rare and a true emergency. It is a miracle that Lauren was my nurse and that she was able to correct the cord. I truly get chills every time I think about it. Lauren most definitely is a true DAISY Nurse for her expert nursing care. She was instrumental in me having a safe and healthy vaginal delivery and guiding me through the labor process. I am so fortunate that I was in her care.
