My daughter had surgery and stayed overnight on 4E. This nurse was beyond phenomenal and everything that embodies nursing care, compassion, and connecting to a patient's needs. My daughter is 17 and lives in a small bubble of friends and family. She doesn't try to branch out unless she is performing on stage. She connected to this nurse immediately. So as a mother, who is a HUGE momma bear, I was delighted to see my daughter open up. She was comforted by this nurse and her orientee. They both provided a wealth of knowledge to ensure my daughter knew what could keep her comfortable and encouraged her to contact either of them for anything. They never made any request feel like a burden. My daughter laughed and joked and shared small bits of the important things in her life with this nurse. For her, this was huge. This nurse remembered the stories, the names of friends, and the events coming up, so her connection was sincere. She made a difficult moment in time actually fun and funny in so many ways.

A parent never wants their children to suffer, be afraid, or go through hard times. My daughter had moments where I saw in her face that she wasn't afraid. That is priceless. I attribute her sense of calm to the positivity this nurse and her teammate brought with them every single time they crossed the threshold of the doorway. We were extremely impressed. This nurse is certainly a DAISY Nurse!
