She approaches every situation—no matter how high-stress—with a calm, steady presence and a commitment to ethical fairness.
Lauren consistently exemplifies what it means to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose. Her impact is felt across the entire organization, where she serves as a stabilizing force and a visionary advocate for both staff and patients. Lauren’s leadership scope is remarkably broad, yet she manages it with a grace that makes the complex look seamless. She currently leads the 3N, 4S, and 5N general medical units, as well as the IV team, wound care team, and our house supervisors.

Beyond just overseeing these teams, she has been instrumental in expanding our hospital’s capacity. Lauren successfully opened over 20 med-surg beds and supported a vital increase in progressive care beds, ensuring we can meet the growing needs of our community without sacrificing the quality of care. A true proactive leader, Lauren doesn't wait for challenges to escalate. She is a master at bridging operational gaps, particularly between the Emergency Department and inpatient units. By refining communication and coordination during patient transitions, she has significantly reduced delays and helped ensure a safer, smoother continuum of care. In the clinical setting, Lauren leads by example. She approaches every situation—no matter how high-stress—with a calm, steady presence and a commitment to ethical fairness.

She has fostered a culture built on trust, where nurses feel safe to ask questions, grow professionally, and advocate fiercely for their patients. She is not just a manager; she is a mentor who empowers her team to take ownership of their practice. Lauren is a transformative force within our organization. Her rare ability to balance operational insight with genuine, heart-led compassion makes her a role model for the nursing profession. She represents the very best of us, and I can think of no one more deserving of recognition as an Extraordinary Nurse Leader.
