I wanted to thank Lauren for everything she did for us from the bottom of our hearts!
I have to talk about my experience with a very special nurse I experienced. It's a day that holds a special place in my heart because that is the day my daughter made her arrival. Lauren was the most accommodating nurse I’ve ever come across. I am a first-time mother and was beyond terrified of the unknowns that come with child labor. She put all of my fears at ease by explaining everything thoroughly to me and having overall compassion for my delivery anxiety. Not to mention, she was genuinely happy to fulfill every request I had with a smile to make my stay more comfortable.
The delivery did not go as planned and she was with my husband and I every step of the way and when we had to opt for an emergency C-section. Lauren held my hand in the operating room while they were prepping me, knowing I was terrified. I’m not sure if she even knows how much that helped me relax! I did not get to properly thank her, for we headed up to a new unit immediately following my surgery, but nurses like this need recognition. I wanted to thank Lauren for everything she did for us from the bottom of our hearts! She felt like an angel that was sent to help me get through the scariest day of my life and I’ll never forget her.
When I tell my birth story, Lauren is always a part of it. Just simply doing her job that day took part in getting my daughter here safely and made a lifelong impact on me. I felt compelled to write my daisy entry letter the night I had my baby. When the dust settled, the room was quiet, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming feeling come over me that I did not get to really thank her in-person. I think there is no better way to say thank you than a well-deserved DAISY Award.
