This was our second delivery. Our first was way different due to COVID in 2020. There are multiple things I don’t care to remember about the first delivery. It was scary and we were alone. I hope I never forget this second delivery. I will forever be grateful that Women’s and Children’s Hospital put Lauren Vaughn on their schedule to work. She is the most compassionate, nurturing, and patient nurse we have ever had the pleasure of caring for us. She made us feel welcomed, at home, and just flat-out loved the entire time we were in the delivery room. We could never thank her enough for making us feel relaxed during such an intense moment in our life. I personally would love to thank her for nurturing my wife while she got her epidural. Lauren held her, allowed my wife to lean on her, and she spoke so kindly to my wife. She gave my wife all the confidence in the world that everything would be okay. While showing us the most attention, she was still attentive to her two ULL nursing students. Those two students had the best teacher that day, I guarantee that. No doubt in my mind, Lauren Vaughn was born to do exactly what she is doing. A delivery nurse. The best. She took such pride in her work and made us feel like we did everything perfectly. We had a smooth delivery and she was so encouraging with my wife when she was pushing. She’s someone I’d love to have on my team in life. I can only pray to God Lauren is still working when my kids have kids and they get to experience her unbelievable selfless love. She was amazing. I hope she knows the impact she had on our lives by helping us bring a beautiful boy into this world. We will forever be thankful for Lauren Vaughn.
