Laura has done an amazing job filling in as charge nurse. She is true leader and recently showed her leadership skills and potential with the TJC interim cycle visit. She was very proactive and worked with her team and nurse manager in preparation for the visit. Unit sweeps were consistently done and she consistently kept her manager informed of any identified fallouts or potential issues in addition to her patient care assignments. She is consistently mentioned positively during daily patient care rounds by all of her patients.Recently, a newly diagnosed diabetic patient described her as patient and caring and a very good teacher.
On the first day of the TJC visit, Laura proactively came in approximately 45 minutes before the start of her shift to make sure the unit was prepared and ready for the survey. Laura is currently pursuing an MSN/APN degree at Rutgers and even with a hectic academic schedule, she is still able to help her team when the need arises. Laura is a team player.
