Lauren Wall is an amazing nurse with a huge heart. Recently, we had a patient come through the Total Joint Unit after a fall that required surgery to repair his hip. Once here, we learned that this man was homeless and it took weeks to get him legal ID and accepted into a rehab facility. Finally, the day had come for him to transfer. The social worker was asking about items in the clothes closet and anything that we might have to get him started in the rehab facility. Lauren walked up and heard the conversation and joyfully handed her debit card to the social worker and said, "get him whatever he needs". Others offered to donate money and she simply said she wanted to do this. We purchased the clothing that he needed as well as personal care items that he could use.
Without pause, Lauren gave money to help out and showed the compassion of a dedicated and loving nurse.
