Lauren has been an amazing nursing student!! The most important reason she has stood out to me is that she is very teachable! I personally have been an RN for 31 years, I have worked med-surg, ICU, ER, home health, and school nursing. She stands out so much because of her willingness to learn and grow as a student. She is very inquisitive, detail-oriented, and interested in learning, regardless of it being a major or minor assessment. She has been my first student to ask me about our policies and procedures and include me in discussions/schoolwork about this. She definitely puts her learning into her nursing student practice. Lauren has worked with our Type 1 diabetic student and our student who was recently tracheal decannulated and requires tube feedings, she has developed special bonds with both of these students. Her bedside manner is top-notch and all the students absolutely love her! With her willingness to learn, listen, and practice assessment skills, she will definitely go far in her future nursing career!
