When I think of a person that is exceptional and meets the criteria for the DAISY Award, it Tina Bailey; not only did she go above and beyond the call of duty with compassion during my surgical procedure, but she made it a priority to show up unbeknownst to me for support and comfort during the months of high impact from COVID.

I was scheduled for surgery, and alone due to protocol had to arrive at 0430 am for a 0730 am case. Tina was aware of this and having to work her own schedule that same day came early to not only distract me from nervousness and being alone but be my support person. Tina not only arrived during my preop, worked her schedule, but that familiar (Jamaican-London) accent voice was at my bedside immediately after my recovery. Ms. Bailey exemplifies a great nurse, listener, teacher, and so much more.
