I would like to take the time to nominate Laurie Bisila. She is a phenomenal teacher; she has made my first semester of nursing school amazing. I admire her care of her students, and always there to assist when needed no matter what. She supported me and encouraged me to keep going when things were difficult. I'm so thankful for Laurie for her kindness and the way she teaches, I enjoyed her classes. She deserves all the nominations, thank you Laurie for everything.

Laurie has a character that makes every student memorable to their nursing school experience. Her courage and kindness soothe the stress we are in the moment. Laurie is a very friendly instructor and almost every student I know we always talked about her and we appreciate her kindness.

Laurie truly cares for her students. I was very nervous during my first semester at CSS, but her kind caring ways put me at ease and made me believe that I could be successful in the program. I now have had her for two semesters and her kindness continues. I hope to have her as an instructor for more classes. She is truly a blessing!

I think Laurie is an amazing teacher. She's always willing to help when you need her.

She will do whatever it takes to help us to understand the concepts that she is teaching, very supportive, positive mind, down to earth, and very knowledgeable.

Instructor Bisila demonstrated the highest standards of professional development and formal education during her End of Life elective. I have since cared for many patients whose families have painfully decided to opt for comfort cares following untreatable polytraumas, and I always think of how Instructor Bisila initially prepared me for this critical task. As such, it is with great pleasure that I offer my highest recommendation for her to be the recipient of the illustrious DAISY Award.

Laurie has been a role model in teaching us what it means to uphold the Benedictine values. Whether on Zoom or in-person she treats each person with respect, hospitality, and encourages a sense of community among the students. She has an obvious Love of Learning that she shares with her students and mentors them to continue to value after graduation. She also encourages good stewardship in the lab setting and in our lives. She has taught us the importance of self-care in her Professional Nursing class and has demonstrated that herself. She is a role model for us all and I highly recommend her for this award.

Laurie is the best instructor I ever had!
