Laurie has been part of the Las Palmas team for over 18 years. She is notorious for always being available to help in crisis situations and performing her duties with diligence and efficiency. She always looks for ways to recognize employees, utilizing her own resources to praise staff and doctors on special occasions. Laurie is always happy and willing to organize and participate in a number of hospital programs. She was instrumental in the success of the Biggest Loser weight-loss competition for nurses and doctors to promote better health. Peers describe her as the back-bone of her unit. She is also described as a proactive nurse, positive, motivated and very knowledgeable and helpful. She also carries excellent rapport throughout the hospital. She's an admired mentor to new nurses and nursing students. Laurie is also an active sponsor of military families at Fort Bliss. We salute Laurie for being a compassionate, fair, and caring nurse.
