There were numerous times Laurie came in to check on me when I did not even put my call light on just to ask me how I am doing.
I am writing this to tell you about my experience with one of your nurses while I was a patient on the progressive step-down unit. Her name was Laurie. Laurie was prompt and professional as soon as I met her. She had been extremely courteous and attentive to my needs. It is hard for me to give you a specific example of how she has helped me because she has helped me so much this stay.
I am blind. Laurie helped me get up and move around my room safely. She helped me with my meals by setting up my trays. Laurie had opened everything for me and explained where everything could be located. She is one of the only people to take this kind of time to explain my tray to me. This is so special to me.
Laurie constantly assessed my pain and gave my pain medication promptly. She put back patches on me delicately because I was in a lot of pain. She answered the call light every time I put it on. Laurie did it in record timing even though I knew she was busy. There were numerous times she came in to check on me when I did not even put my call light on just to ask me how I am doing. She contacted my doctors to help me on numerous occasions when I had questions for them. Laurie even brought in a foam dressing for one of my scrapes instead of a band-aid because she told me it would protect my skin better. If you ever did a training video on how to be a great nurse, she should be the one to be followed by the camera. She has gone above and beyond for me. I cannot thank her enough!
