Upon being admitted for labor, Laurie explained my delivery options after the doctor quickly used acronyms for my state. Knowing how worried I was about my baby she asked to stay with us from the trauma room to the delivery room to keep us reassured. Each time the doctor came in, Laurie took the time to explain, in depth, my options. When my baby's heart rate continued to drop she explained thoroughly the C-section process. I was in tears the whole time, as I was scared for my baby, and she continued to calm me. Shortly after, the team ran in for emergency C-section and my baby was born healthy. Without a doubt, I know I would have been even more hysterical without a nurse who had empathy for our situation and took the time to care and love us and continued to during our stay. She exemplifies a passion for her job and pride of her work with her patients so much so that the next couple days with other nurses, Laurie continued to check in with us during her shifts. I cannot speak highly enough of her, we know she gave and cared beyond her job description! Thank you for all you did to comfortably welcome our baby into the world.
