M was admitted to the ER in 2018. From there, M was transferred to the ICU for Comfort Care, and Laurie Payne was assigned to him. She was phenomenal! She was compassionate, empathic, and professional, with very sharp clinical skills. She had great intuition and seemed to anticipate our needs: a private waiting room for the family, providing lunch, and even moving M's heart monitor out of our line of vision as he was passing away. She worked well past her shift so we did not have to transition to another staff member. Laurie truly honored M and all of us with grace and dignity during our most difficult day.
I recently recall seeing a commercial for your hospital, with the motto: "A Higher Level of Care" written prominently on the screen. Having received exceptional care from Laurie, I know this is not just a tagline. The words are a credit to your institution, and my family and I are truly grateful for the care provided.
