Laurie is our living donor coordinator and shepherd's donors through the donation process, looking out for educating them at every step. Recently, we had our first donor surgical complication in years, weeks after surgery on the other side of the country in a remote area. Laurie's communication with the donor, our team, and multiple hospitals and physicians in Michigan and Wisconsin saved the donor from an unnecessary surgery, reassured the donor, and ensured the donor got the right care and support.
